Finding the Needle in the Haystack

As ReBirth’s Bharat Organ Yatra 2.0 moves to a new state, Odisha, the backend team also sees a change. Indumathi Argi hands over the baton of captainship to Ritu Doshi. Excitedly, Ritu takes the reins with utter responsibility…only to face a dull first day at the desk!

Berhampur’s substitute host, Mr Swagat who is stepping in for the Venue Captain Rupesh, is a B.Pharm student who tried for an event in his college. However, with exams underway, his college denied permission. Thus, Berhampur has no scheduled events for B.O.Y. 2.0; that’s not how Ritu had envisioned her start!

Instead of fretting, she adds her thinking hat over the captainship one. The only detail she has is Swagat’s number and location of Kaka’s accommodation.

That’s all she needs, it seems! Furiously, she punches in a search on Google for news agencies in B.O.Y. 2.0’s vicinity in Berhampur. She notes down names promptly and establishes contact one by one. In no time, Berhampur is flooded with events!

A no-show has turned into a full-fledged interview day for Kaka and B.O.Y. 2.0, courtesy Ritu using the right magnet to find the needle in the worldwide web’s haystack!

Rupesh and Swagat schedule an open ground of Khalicoat College as the interview’s venue. When Kaka and he reach the venue, around 6 to 7 media houses / reporters are on site! They take bytes, photos, and short video clips for their channels. Kaka feels like a celebrity! The interview gets extended and derails the next unexpected event…

With the help of OTV, Berhampur’s Collector’s contact number is successfully passed on to Ritu. Contact is established and so is word. Shri Vijay Amruta Kulange, IAS (Collector & District Magistrate) who is from Ahmednagar flexes his power to tap more press coverage on learning that Kaka hails from aamcha Maharashtra! Kaka is interviewed by more reporters as B.O.Y. 2.0 is felicitated by Shri Vijay Kulange.

Berhampur covers B.O.Y. 2.0 via Bhagyaprabha News, ETv Odisha, Nitidina Newspaper, Samaj Newspaper, and Sambad Newspaper amongst others.

Satisfied with the day, Kaka looks forward to a relaxing evening at his accommodation. But a loud sound of running engines draws Kaka to the road. 8 to 10 bikers have managed to locate Kaka by following social media channels and the intersecting bikers’ circles. Kaka’s parked bike is the final clue in their treasure hunt! They request him to come with them for dinner…

Fun and frolic ensues over plates of food. Just as they are about to break, one of the bikers requests Kaka’s guidance. Immediately, the group moves to the biker’s home. His mother-in-law is recently diagnosed with a kidney failure. He hopes that Kaka will be the light of hope for her!

Kaka involuntarily gives the lady a pep talk. In him, she sees hopes for a healthy future! An old man with one kidney is riding daily for a collective 17500 kilometres – what better proof of pink of health?!

With all authority, Kaka asks her to strengthen her will power and advises the family to seek immediate medical help.

Hope is like that tiny needle lost in the chaotic haystacks of the world. Today, B.O.Y. 2.0 has shown that if we want, we can easily find our needles!
