The Trio

Another day in Madurai today lands another opportunity to reach out for organ donation awareness. Kaka is scheduled to deliver a talk to a sensitive audience today. He is invited to Padma Speciality Care Hospital, a children’s hospital, to speak about the need of organ donation! Habits that are taught in childhood imprint the longest in a human. No wonder then that B.O.Y. 2.0 is talking to the parents and hospital staff about the concept of organ donation. The session drives its point perfectly; Kaka is satisfied too!

The diversity in India ensures that one is always engaged. Madurai presents another chance for B.O.Y. 2.0 to explore the touristy route. Kaka arrives at the Meenakshi Temple – as a tourist as well as a devotee…

Built on the principle of Dravidian architecture, the historic Meenakshi Temple resides in the heart of Madurai. It is one of the oldest temples in India that holds a high mythological and historical significance. So if B.O.Y. 2.0 is in Madurai, it is bound to pay respect to the temple.

Kaka parks his bike in the premises and walks in, prepared to be awed with the ancient workmanship. And, his expectations are far exceeded!

The famed temple is dedicated to Meenakshi, a form of Parvati. It is believed that Shiva – in the form of Sundareswarar – married Parvati i.e. Meenakshi at the site where the temple is currently located. It is also depicted, here, that Lord Vishnu handed Meenakshi (Parvati) over to Shiva in their wedding. This idol of the famous trio is one of the main highlights in the 14 acre temple.

The individuals of the trio – Parvati, Shiva, and Vishnu – are powerful by themselves. But when they’ve come together, their strength has amplified. We believe the same has happened at B.O.Y. 2.0!

ReBirth (an NGO working for organ donation awareness), Mahajan Kaka (a 68-year-old organ donor), and Mileage Munchers (a passionate biking group) have done some solid stuff by themselves. Now that they’ve come together, Bharat Organ Yatra (B.O.Y.) 2.0 is scaling better heights!

We are certain that neither party could have achieved this without the support of each other. Another reason for the success of B.O.Y. 2.0 is the common belief that all three share – organ donation awareness is of the utmost importance. The method could vary but the motive shall always remain the same!

Kaka expresses his gratitude to the different deities of the Meenakshi Temple. Before leaving, he clicks some photographs of the temple complex and takes the backend team for another virtual trip to witness the incredibility of this land called India!
