Preeti has entered the Indian Silicon Valley……

Total Travel on Day 9 : 240-250 kilometers

Total cycling time : Approximately 18-19  hours

Route : Bhuthpur-Pullur

States crossed : Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana

The ninth day started off with a bang… Preeti crossed into the state of Karanataka from Telangana State… But there was one more challenge waiting for her.  Cross winds….  The notorious winds that present the rider with many problems…

To reduce the effect of the heat on Preeti, the team was constantly showering her with water to keep her body temperature down… The rest that she was taking early morning has now been shifted to the afternoons when the sun is at its peak heat which means Preeti will start her journey early in the mornings.. In addition to the heat, the heavy vehicular traffic is also a cause of concern. A three hour rest break at a dhaba post lunch was taken.

In the evening on the Andhra Pradesh – Karnataka highway, a police patrol car spotted Preeti and her pilot car. They were pretty much surprised with the fact that Preeti had been cycling from Kashmir and aimed to go to Kanyakumari for spreading awareness about organ donation. They drove with Preeti for quite some distance and wished her all the very best  for the mission!

To keep Preeti alert, the team was coming up with things like singing songs, shouting motivational slogans, chatting with her through the nights, etc. They are doing the best they can to ensure Preeti is alert especially in the nights while riding.

This is the last leg of Preeti’s mission and soon she will reach her destination…
